If anyone of you remembered watching the movie Junior (1994) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a man who becomes pregnant for a science fertility project, this fiction has become reality!!!
Lee Mingwei, a Taiwanese American artist who has exhibited at The Whitney Museum of American Art, is said to be the world's first male in history to gestate a fetus within his own body.
Just like me, you must be wondering how is that even possible? Well according to RYT Hospital, Mr Lee was administered oral does of female hormones to make him receptive to pregnancy. An embryo and placenta was then implanted into the abdominal cavity using IVF techniques. This was done to induce a ectopic pregnancy. Mr Lee stopped taking the hormones once the implantation was done and the pregnancy itself took over.
